Redevelopment of the First World War Galleries at the Australian War Memorial was a project of national significance for completion by the 100th anniversary of Australia’s involvement. Mental Media were consultants to the exhibition designers, Cunningham Martyn Design, to develop the overall multimedia strategy for the gallery, including technical design and prototyping of items such as the digital labels.
In addition to the technical design and supervision, we produced and supplied the Visitor Audio Experience, working with the Fraunhofer Institute, Art Processors and SNEPO to deliver a ground breaking system that could live-mix audio tailored to the visitors interests based on their location in the gallery.
Mental Media also supplied the production for the the Reflections Gallery. Using historical imagery in combination with a soundtrack composed by Guy Gross and Beatrice Tucker for the Sydney Children’s Choir it includes a performance by Lee Kernaghan. The production provides an emotional link between the service of Australians 100 years ago and their descendants today.
